Slovakian Defence Minister Jaro Nad announced on Facebook that Ukraine has received all 13 pledged MiG-29 fighter jets.
The transfer was initially announced in March, and just a month later, all the fighters were delivered to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Interestingly, unlike the first batch, the second batch of fighters was delivered to Ukraine via land transportation. According to Yaroslav Nadia, this was a complex logistical operation.
Looking back, the MiG-29 was a multirole fighter from the Soviet Union’s fourth generation. It served as the flagship multirole fighter for both the Warsaw Pact countries and the USSR during the 1980s.
Nowadays, the MiG-29 is utilized in many countries, including Ukraine, and has undergone over 15 modifications.
