Slovakia Fulfills Promise to Strengthen Ukraine’s Defense with Complete Transfer of MiG-29 Fighter Jets

Slovakian Defense Minister Jaro Nad announced on Facebook that Ukraine has received all the committed MiG-29 fighter jets.

Here’s What We Know: The transfer of the 13 aircraft was declared in March, and within a month, all of them have been handed over to the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

Interestingly, unlike the initial batch, the second group was transported to Ukraine by land. Yaroslav Nadia mentioned that it was a challenging logistical task.

Flashback: The MiG-29 is a Soviet fourth-generation multirole fighter. It was the primary multirole fighter of the USSR and Warsaw Pact countries in the 1980s.

Currently, the MiG-29 is operational in many nations, including Ukraine, and has over 15 variations.
