From Russia with Armor: T-90A Tank Spotted on American Soil

A Russian T-90A tank seized by the Ukrainian Defense Forces was observed in the United States. The image showcasing the combat vehicle was posted on Reddit. The aggressors lost their T-90A tank during skirmishes last year. The shared images display the tank positioned on a platform intended for transporting equipment.

As per the comments on the photo, the prize Russian T-90A from 2004 was captured in the state of Louisiana in the USA. According to the information portal “Tysk”, this tank belonged to the 27th Separate Guards Motor Rifle Brigade of the Russian Federation’s Armed Forces, participating in a full-scale ωɑɾ against Ukraine as part of the Russian invasion troops. This tank was seized by the 92nd Separate Mechanized Brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces on September 25, 2022.

The capture transpired in the village of Kurylivka, Kupiansk district of the Kharkiv region. The circumstances of the Russian tank’s arrival in the USA remain unknown. The Ukrainian side hosts comparable exhibitions of the ruined invader equipment in various European nations, and now it appears that a similar display will be presented in the United States as well. The T-90A tank is an upgrade of the Soviet-built T-72B tanks. Its enhancements aim at significantly improving all combat capabilities of the tank. The serial modification of the T-90 under index A was produced between 2004 and 2011.

The tank was outfitted with a B-92S2 engine with a power of 1000 hp, an enhanced welded turret with increased stability instead of a cast one, and a 2A46M-5 ɢυи. The Ukrainian military has released a video featuring a comprehensive examination of the T-90A, one of the primary battle tanks of the Russian army. Ukrainian soldiers captured the fighting vehicle.
