While the Ukrainian Armed Forces eagerly await the arrival of the initial batch of M1 Abrams tanks, the United States is contemplating the potential of dispatching an additional shipment of tanks to Ukraine. This also applies to the M2 Bradley infantry fighting vehicles.
Here’s What We Know: The US is exploring the possibility of sending more tanks and armored vehicles to Ukraine, as stated by Polish Defense Minister Mateusz Morawiecki during a joint press conference with US Vice President Kamala Harris.
Moreover, the Polish Prime Minister highlighted that Ukraine purchases weaponry from Poland, funded by international institutions. Specifically, this includes self-propelled artillery systems Krab, self-propelled mortars Rak, armored personnel carriers Rosomak, and portable anti-aircraft missile systems Piorun.
Regarding the M1 Abrams tanks, the US had initially announced the transfer of the M1A2 in winter, but due to delays, the deliveries have been pushed back by over a year.
As a result, it has been decided to send the M1A1 SA version to Ukraine in the autumn. The first batch of M2 Bradley vehicles was already sent to Ukraine in January.
