Polish Pilots Officially Receive State-of-the-Art US F-22 Raptor Fifth-Generation Fighter Jets
Here’s What We Know Just a few days ago, we reported on the deployment of advanced American F-22 Raptor fifth-generation fighters to Poland.
Today, on April 11, Defense Minister Mariusz Błaszczak confirmed the arrival of these aircraft. According to Minister Błaszczak, Polish Air Force pilots will operate these cutting-edge fighters.
He also described the F-22 as “one of the most advanced aircraft in the world.” These newly arrived Raptors are assigned to the US Air Force’s 94th Squadron and will replace the F-15E Strike Eagle. In order to establish a forward presence of US fighters along NATO’s eastern flank, the US Air Force dispatched aircraft from Langley-Eustis, Virginia, to Poland. The Powidz military airbase is now serving as the temporary home for the F-22 Raptors.
It’s worth noting that the F-22 is rarely deployed outside the United States and is not intended for export. However, in 2014, it was utilized for the first time in Syria. Last summer, the US Air Force sent these aircraft to Poland to strengthen NATO’s eastern flank.
