Ukraine Seeks F-16 Pilots and Foreign Specialists to Enhance Defense Capabilities
Cooperation with Denmark Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov, in a joint press conference with Danish Defense Minister Troels Lund Poulsen, emphasized the collaboration between both nations in defense matters. As a result of agreements with Denmark and Germany, Ceasar artillery systems and Leopard 1 tanks are set to arrive in Ukraine soon.
Training and Expertise Minister Poulsen emphasized the significance of training Ukrainian specialists in the maintenance and repair of these weapons prior to their arrival in the country. Minister Reznikov highlighted that Ukrainian artillery specialists are already undergoing training for Ceasar systems and expressed enthusiasm for the imminent presence of “tanks with a Danish accent” in Ukraine.
Invitation to Foreign Specialists Minister Reznikov extended an invitation to foreign specialists with experience in servicing such equipment, possessing the necessary permits and access to relevant documentation, to contribute to strengthening Ukraine’s defense capabilities. This invitation is not limited to artillery and tank experts alone but also includes pilots proficient in flying F-16 fighters. The Open Foreign Legion Minister Reznikov announced the readiness of the Foreign Legion to welcome F-16 pilots who wish to participate in defending Ukraine as part of this international collaboration.

Upcoming Arms Deliveries The delivery of Ceasar artillery systems is expected to take place next month, with the deployment of Leopard 1 tanks potentially starting before the summer. Discussions regarding future deliveries of Leopard 2 tanks are also underway. Strengthening Defense Capacity Ukraine’s call for Western F-16 pilots and foreign specialists in weapon servicing is aimed at bolstering its defense capabilities and fostering collaboration with allied countries such as Denmark and Germany. It reflects Ukraine’s commitment to enhancing its defense capacity through international cooperation.
