Diplomatic Decision: Croatia Officially Commits to Transferring Mi-8 Helicopters to Ukraine

In February,

Croatian media reported that the Croatian government was planning to transfer Mi-8 helicopters to Ukraine. This information has now been verified.

Here’s What We Know Croatian Defense Minister Mario Banožić confirmed this during a meeting with his Ukrainian counterpart. Deliveries are expected to commence in the near future.

The Croatian defense minister did not disclose the exact number of helicopters, but it is likely that 14 units will be provided: 12 Mi-8 MTV-1 helicopters and 2 Mi-8T helicopters.

Flashback The Mi-8 is a Soviet multirole helicopter that was developed in the early 1960s.

It is the most widely produced twin-engine helicopter and one of the most extensively used helicopters in aviation history. The Mi-8 is utilized for various civil and military missions and has undergone numerous modifications. It is operational in over 50 countries.
