Elbit Systems awarded $100m contract to upgrade commercial aircraft for intelligence and EW capabilities.
Elbit Systems has won a $100 million agreement to retrofit a commercial aircraft for an international client, converting it into an intelligence and electronic ωarfare (EW) asset. The project will involve equipping the aircraft with sophisticated intelligence mission suites, advanced electronic ωarfare capabilities, and self-protection and immune satellite navigation systems.
The upgraded aircraft is expected to help the customer to counter threats and enhance its ability to utilize electronic countermeasures. Elbit Systems Electronic ωarfare General Manager, Oren Sabag, noted that the contract underscores the company’s market-leading ISTAR and EW capabilities, as well as its ability to provide tailor-made solutions that meet specific customer needs.
