Elbit Systems has been awarded a $100 million agreement to transform a commercial airplane into an intelligence and electronic ωarfare (EW) resource for an overseas client.
The contract involves upgrading the plane with innovative intelligence mission suites and related electronic ωarfare abilities to provide a more comprehensive perspective of the operational environment through signal and visual intelligence sensors.
Additionally, the aircraft will be equipped with modern self-protection and immune satellite navigation systems to enhance the customer’s capacity to employ electronic countermeasures against threats.
Elbit Systems Electronic warfare General Manager Oren Sabag emphasized the company’s extensive portfolio of ISTAR and EW capabilities, along with its ability to deliver personalized solutions that can adapt to the rapidly changing operational requirements of customers.
In March, Elbit was also selected to provide electronic ωarfare self-protection suites for a European NATO country and equip six Romanian Armed Forces SA 330 Puma helicopters with an electronic ωarfare suite under a two-year contract, which has an option for six additional electronic ωarfare packages.
