The Ukrainian Armed Forces received French AMX-10RC armored vehicles, which were then handed over to the Ukrainian Marines. This was reported by Oleksii Reznikov, Ukraine’s Defense Minister, who also shared a video featuring the vehicles and their crews.
France provided these armored vehicles as part of its defense assistance to Ukraine, as they are necessary to resist a full-scale Russian invasion and to liberate temporarily occupied Ukrainian territories.
Ukrainian crews were trained by French instructors at the cavalry school in Saumur to operate these vehicles before receiving them. The minister expressed his gratitude to the French side for their support in providing the armored vehicles, and at the beginning of January, France decided to transfer the AMX-10RC to Ukraine.
However, for security reasons, the exact number of vehicles that Ukraine received was not disclosed by the Ministry of Defense of France. According to sources, Ukraine is expected to receive 30 AMX-10 RC vehicles. The French AMX-10 RC armored vehicles are highly mobile due to their 6×6 wheel arrangement and hydropneumatic suspension system, which allows for variable ground clearance and inclination, making them effective in different terrains.
They can be used for reconnaissance missions and provide infantry fire support in combat. Equipped with a 105/47 F2 MECA 105mm rifled tank gun, the vehicle’s armament includes APFSDS, HEAT-FS, and high-explosive and fragmentation ammunition.
